Alice Ren obtained a PhD from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 2022 working with large ocean datasets collected by underwater gliders. At WHOI, she is working with gliders in the Gulf Stream. She has expertise in dissolved oxygen optode sensor measurements and calibration on gliders. She is involved with both physical oceanography projects and biogeochemical projects.
